As you enter the practice you will be warmly greeted by our receptionist and directed to the waiting room. You will then be asked to read the Cosmetic Acupuncture information and fill out the consent and confidential patient records form (this can also be downloaded as an Adobe Acrobat document from here and filled in beforehand if you prefer). This may take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Therefore we'd like you to arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment. We usually post the all information prior to your appointment.

After you have completed the form, the receptionist will direct you to the consultation room where your practitioner will be waiting for you. The practitioner will explain the details of Cosmetic Acupuncture and discuss your medical / health issue with you before carrying out an examination. This will be followed by an assessment such as facial muscles, TMJ, Posture as well as Chinese Medical pulse & tongue diagnosis. This information will allow the practitioner to make a diagnosis and decide upon your facial acupuncture treatment.
After that, with your consent, a photo of your face will be taken and reviewed with you. A practitioner will discuss your current problem areas such as scars, spots, size and shape of face, wrinkles etc. and inform you about the expected results and treatment schedule.
Initially, only a half of your face will be treated and you can hold a mirror to examine your face. This will give you the opportunity to compare the treated and untreated areas and see the results for yourself. With your approval, treatment would then be applied to the other half.
After finishing your acupuncture treatment, you will receive our special facial mask treatment. It can help calm, relax and smooth your skin as well as maximize the effectiveness of the Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment.
Although you can go back to your daily routines and wear make-up right after the therapy, you should minimize unnecessary stimulation such as pulling faces, strong facial massage and avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and exposure to strong sunlight. We recommend you also use sun screen.
A recommended course of treatment consists of 8 sessions, with 2 sessions per a week for a month.
To achieve long-lasting results, it is recommended you top up with a session every month.
During a course of the treatment, you should ensure that the skin is well moisturised and your diet includes plenty of vitamins and minerals from fresh food sources.
